Kooiman Marine Group has a shipbuilding department to supply hulls, sections, construction work and all possible minor metalwork. We process a wide range of materials such as black steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Thanks to many years’ experience with the complex repair of ships and the construction of hulls, Kooiman Marine Group is extremely familiar with the properties and the processing of the different materials, welding processes, procedures and certification.
The shipbuilding department has the knowledge and the machines to shape single and double curved sheets. Measuring for templates and shaping plates can be done the traditional way using jig boards and tub moulds. Alternatively, modern techniques can be used, in collaboration with Kooiman Engineering, such as photogrammetry and 3D modelling. For extensive metalwork, Kooiman Engineering draws cutting files. These cutting kits are ordered externally. The cutting kits are assembled in-house and at the customer’s own location into the desired end product.
