Tax and Customs Authorities

Next to the Customs Office on the Second Maasvlakte, a new National Inspection Terminal (RIT) will be realized. The Customs, the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate and the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority will cooperate together in the new terminal.

The terminal consists of 3 parts:

• State Control Pilot
• National Practice and Training Center (LPTC)
• A training track for tracking dogs

The National Practice and Training Center (LPTC) is worldwide an unique training center. Commissioned by the Dutch Tax and Customs Authorities, Kooiman Marine Group has designed part of the Practice Training Center. We have constructed a total ship simulation.

The setup is equipped with a replica engine room, cabins and entrance like that of a ship, complete with a side deck and a gangway. In this training center, course participants learn to 'think like a criminal' and to become aware of the different smuggling methods and possibilities that smuggling gangs have at their disposal.

Kooiman Marine Group recently delivered the project according to plan. In the spring of 2018, the final construction of the National Inspection Terminal (RIT) will be completed.
