DC Brugge

The seaworthy dry cargo vessel DC Eems has been converted into hopper dredger DC Brugge. Kooiman Marine Group in Zwijndrecht has been commissioned by Group De Cloedt for this undertaking. The ship is approximately 90m x 15m and after the renovation it has a hopper of 2,450 cbm. All services of Kooiman Marine Group have been deployed for this refit to dredging vessel.

The first work consisted of dismantling the deckhouse and stern. In the newbuild hall a completely new deckhouse has been built according to the IMO standard and explicit customer wishes. After completion this deckhouse has been lifted onto the ship and consists of wheelhouse, galley, workspaces, dining room and several sleeping quarters.

The rooms are equipped with thick insulation and some walls are also provided with special insulation that absorbs vibration and noise. The layout and furnishing are designed according to the MLC 2006 guidelines. The materials used were chosen and applied in cooperation with the customer and in accordance with the IMO guideline.
